The Kitchen Remodeling

01

Finding the Vision

The first step in your kitchen remodeling project is to figure out what you want. You may want to get ideas from magazines, from home improvement stores, or from online sources like Pinterest, Instagram, or Facebook. You may also want to ask your family and friends for ideas. Typically, it’s best to look at what bugs you the most in your kitchen. It may be the layout of the kitchen, or the creaky cabinets, or the outdated floor. If you want to entirely update the look and feel of your kitchen, we’ll help you!

If you’re considering what needs to be changed, it’s a good idea to look at the following:

  • Cabinet doors, hinges, sliders, and pulls
  • Countertops/backsplash
  • Sink/faucets
  • Flooring
  • Appliances
  • Fixtures
  • Painting the room

02

Budget & Planning

When it comes to kitchen remodeling, there is no such thing as a one-size-fits-all budget. The cost of your kitchen remodel will depend on the size of your kitchen, the extent of the work to be done, the quality of materials you choose, and the contractor you hire. Before you begin planning your kitchen remodel, you’ll need to set a budget. To do this, start by evaluating your needs and wants. Once you have a clear idea of what you want to achieve with your kitchen remodel, you can begin to research trustworthy contractors, like us, to do the job.

If you‘re working with a limited budget, you may need to get creative with your kitchen remodel. For example, you may want to consider painting your cabinets instead of replacing them. Or, you may want to install new flooring instead of completely gutting your kitchen.

As we go over what you’re looking to do in your kitchen, we’ll get to work preparing an estimate. This involves calling our trusted subcontractors and suppliers to get a sense for material availability and work schedule.

Once we’ve prepared an estimate and discussed it with you, we’ll make final revisions to the Scope of Work to fit your budget and Vision, while leaving behind a quality project.

If changes are made during the remodeling process, that could end up costing more money.

Construction

After we’ve agreed to an estimate and collected a down payment, we’ll get to work on ordering materials and scheduling subcontractors. The order of operations varies slightly from project to project, but typically the process works like this:

  • Our demolition crew will come out and remove anything that needs to be cleared as part of the Scope of Work. This could range from your old cabinets and countertops, to your entire floor and drywall. We take special precautions during the kitchen remodeling process to minimize the spread of dust and debris by using tools like plastic curtains and floor protection.
  • Once everything is torn out, we’ll begin the installation phase. In this, we’ll install your new cabinets, flooring, etc. as part of your Scope of Work. We make sure to measure twice and cut once, saving on potential errors that can happen during the kitchen remodeling process.
  • After we’ve installed everything, we move on to finishing touches. This could involve a new coat of paint in the room, new baseboards around your flooring, and everything in between.
  • Once the finishing touches are done, we’ll do a final walkthrough with you to guarantee you’re 100% satisfied with the quality of your Visionary project!
